The NBA’s end-of-season calendar has reportedly been set, with The Athletic’s Shams Charania reporting Friday that the abbreviated regular season is set to begin July 30 before the playoffs kick off Aug. 17.
With the Wizards among the teams that will be heading to Orlando for the conclusion of the season, here’s the reported schedule of dates the NBA expects to follow:
July 30 – Regular season resumes, called «seeding games»
Aug. 14 – Final day of regular season
Aug. 17 – Playoffs begin
Aug. 30 – Families and guests of teams will be allowed to arrive
Aug. 31 – Conference semifinals begin
Sept. 15 – Conference finals begin
Sept. 30 – NBA Finals begin, with a potential Game 7 set for Oct. 13
When play resumes, the Wizards will have eight games to play with the chance of overtaking the Orlando Magic for the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. If Washington fails to make the postseason, it will retain the ninth-best NBA Draft lottery odds.
