Good news Rip City!
McCollum will be reevaluated later next week, the team announced, as will Jusuf Nurkić.
At least that’s the perspective of Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum as he rehabs his left mid-foot fracture suffered on January 16th vs. Atlanta.
Earlier this week, McCollum told The Athletic‘s Jason Quick the foot is «slowly progressing» but no timetable has been made for his return to the court. Tuesday’s evaluation of the foot came back «how they expected it to be.»
Blazers guard CJ McCollum said evaluation for his broken left foot on Tuesday was «how they expected it to be.» He says he is «slowly progressing» each day but he doesn’t want to put a timeline on his return. He has been out since suffering injury in Jan. 16 game vs. Atlanta.

On February 16th, McCollum had his left foot re-evaluated after suffering a left mid-foot fracture on January 16 against the Atlanta Hawks. Trail Blazers President of Basketball Operations, Neil Olshey, gave the latest update at that time, announcing that the Blazers starting shooting guard, “continues to progress in his return to action.”
«McCollum, who was examined today by team medical personnel, will no longer be required to wear a walking boot and will advance to the next stage of his rehabilitation. He will be reevaluated again in two weeks,» said Olshey after McCollum’s evaluation.
Head coach Terry Stotts seemed content with McCollum’s rehab when asked about it following Portland’s loss to Denver last week.
«He’s still working on his rehab. He’s not doing much. Whatever you’ve seen him do on social media is about all that he’s doing,» explained Stotts.
«The rehab is going well. We are pleased with the way the foot is healing but there’s really not much more to that. He’s not running. Stationary shooting [only]. He needs to let it run its course.»
Before suffering the foot sprain, McCollum was off to his best start in his career, averaging 26.7 points on 47.3% FG including 44.1% from three to go along with 3.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists through 13 games.
