NBA community reacts to the passing of Bullets legend Wes Unseld
Five-time All-Star, 1968-69 MVP and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Wes Unseld died Tuesday morning after «lengthy health battles,» his family announced via the Wizards’ Twitter account.
Unseld, one of two players ever to win MVP in his rookie season, spent his entire career with the Bullets franchise. He helped guide the team to D.C.’s sole NBA title in 1978, winning Finals MVP after averaging 9.4 points and 12 rebounds per game throughout the playoffs.
Players and executives alike weighed in on social media to honor Unseld’s memory.
