NBA legend Allen Iverson is coming through with some words of encouragement for fans reeling during uncertain times. The retired Philadelphia 76ers star tweeted a unifying statement to his 1 million+ followers Sunday night.
“This too shall pass!!! Right now, it’s bad but we’ll get through this TOGETHER!!! #StaySafe,” AI wrote.
Retweeted nearly 8,000 times and receiving more than 56,000 likes, supporters of the 44-year-old definitely heard the message loud and clear. However, there was one other detail in Iverson’s tweet that caught Twitter’s eye.
On his shirt displayed an image of fallen rapper Nipsey Hussle and the late Kobe Bryant, two individuals taken from us too soon. Grammy Award-winning rapper Nipsey Hussle was gunned down just outside his Marathon Clothing shop over one year ago, and five-time NBA champion Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and seven others lost their lives in a helicopter crash January 26. The photo depicts both Hussle and Bryant sharing a handshake with their eyes closed and heads bowed.
We did some digging and found a site manufacturing the shirt.
Available in both men and women sizes, you can personalize this tee by choosing your own color, fit and whether you prefer long-sleeved or a hooded number. It’s listed as “limited edition,” so we’re not sure how long they’ll be available to purchase. While supplies last, you can match one of the best to play the game and honor his fallen competitor and a hip-hop artist and entrepreneur taken from us too soon.
